    Zusammenfassung
    Spielbericht aus München

After a good weeks training an injury hit München made the long trip up to Heidleberg RK II to face the second in the league. The order of the day = win at all costs. After the first whistle it was apparent that München had control, however some nervous offloads and missed chances led to frustration throughout the team. Heidelberg made some strong runs and a missed penalty kick added to our woes, but the ambitious MRFC regrouped and calmed down. They gained some composer and a deadly game plan started to emerge. Some quick ball and dramatic lines in the backs led to Thomas Hensel scoring a brilliant try near the posts worthy of top flight rugby. He went on to convert the try and it was game on from there.
An "understrength" pack dominated the scrum and ball off the top of the lineout provided the backs with perfect opportunities, ground was made when needed and kicks were accurate. A well worked back's move in open play led to Hensel bursting through the line with pace and Fionn Harnischfeger and Henry Nagel's support left and right led to Fionn going over for a try finishing the clinical move. Naturally.....Hensel converted. Things started to heat up and what was initially thought to be an understrength team began to fire with all cylinders like a team that has been playing together for years. What might possibly be the best team try of the season so far was the cherry on the cake for the first half. Phase after phase of quick ball from good rucking and accurate distribution from numbers 9 & 10 led to the influential Roger Hutchinson going over on the wing(??) with a massive overlap. Hensel neatly converted. The half time break didn't have a team talk we expected, München demanded more.
The second half saw Heidelberg's best bits of play. Some strong running a difficult angles to defend against led to them getting a try in the corner. They missed the conversion and the MRFC regained control. Fionn scored two more tries to complete his hattrick and gained man of the match. The experienced Jerome Prieto finished a lovely team try under the posts with another unsung hero Casper Hasner providing the last pass. Heidelberg would have got another try for sure if it wasn't for the replacement fullback Luca Farina who made a fantastic tackle.
Hensel converted all the tries of the game, kicked that important penalty in the first half and only missed 2/9 kicks, both penalties. With a try in the first half and moving to back row in the second he had a great game.
A team made up from 2nd team players and reserves did München proud. The boys that stepped up did more then what was asked of them and proved their contention for places in the future. A healthy competition for places is formed and the standard is raised. Let's hope we see more of the same enthusiasm and clinical play for the next game in front of a home crowd who's numbers grow as München step up from week to week. You must be there in a week to support the boys, but more importantly to see what they are capable of. See you there!

Man of the match: Fionn Harnischfeger
